Why we built this
Bloated dashboards, demo calls, lockdown browsers, surprise per-seat bills. Teachers end up patching together Google Forms because the “real” tools are worse.
Three demo calls before you can log in. Forty-tab dashboards. Half the buttons do nothing you'll ever need.
An hour to build each test. Twenty more for students to install software, sign up, and verify their identity.
Camera-based papers break on browser permissions, blocked webcams, weak devices, and students joining from the wrong environment.
Continuous webcam recording, mouse tracking, identity scans. Treating every student like a suspect by default.
Build a test, send the link. Students click and answer. You get scores. That's the whole product.
Three things matter when you run an online test. We took those seriously and skipped the rest.
Four minutes from blank canvas to a live link in your students' inboxes. No demo call, no install, no sales rep.
They click your link, type their name, take the test. Auto-resume if their wifi drops. No accounts, no downloads.
Tab-switch detection, copy blocks, server-truth timer, and a clear audit log - running in the background while students focus on the test.
If wifi drops or the tab closes, students pick up exactly where they left off — same timer, same answers.
The countdown is absolute and honest. Refreshing won't reset it. Closing the tab won't pause it.
Every tab switch, fullscreen exit, copy attempt, and paste - timestamped on the attempt page. You decide what to do.
After N violations the attempt locks. Or just warn, log, and let you make the call after class.
MCQs and numerical answers grade themselves. Short-text answers come to you with a clean override + comment workflow.
No accounts for takers. They click, type their name and email, and start. Results land in your inbox.
MCQs, multi-correct, short-text, numerical with tolerance. Add images. Group questions into sections. Set negative marking. Done.
Email, WhatsApp, your LMS — anyone with the link can take it. Once per email, or unlimited retakes — your call.
Auto-graded scores. Timestamped events. Manual override when you want it. CSV export when admin wants it.
Focused on what works
The vast majority of online cheating happens in the browser. We catch all of it — cleanly, quietly, with timestamps and an audit trail you can actually act on:
For class tests, mocks, hiring screens, and weekly assessments, that's the work. For board-grade certification exams that need a human invigilator, hire one. We'll happily tell you when this isn't the right tool.

A note from the maker
I made Chalks because I wanted a way to run weekly tests for my own students that didn't eat my afternoon. Most tools on the market are built for university registrars and certification boards. This one is built for the kind of teacher who runs a quiz every Monday and just wants the grading done by lunch — with the answers, the analytics, and a fair process for everyone in the room.
