1. Information We Collect
When you create an account on Chalks, we collect your name, email address, and optionally your phone number. We also collect usage data such as test attempts, class attendance, and homework submissions to provide you with a personalised learning experience.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to operate and improve the platform, process payments, send notifications about classes, tests, and homework, and communicate important updates. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
3. Service Providers
Chalks relies on a small set of trusted third-party services to operate. We share only the data each provider needs to perform its function:
- Clerk — authentication. Your login credentials are managed securely by Clerk and are not stored directly on our servers.
- Convex — application database and backend. Stores your account data, tests, and attempt records.
- Vercel — application hosting and content delivery.
- Razorpay — payment processing (see section 4).
- Resend — transactional email delivery (test invitations, results, OTP verification).
- Google Gemini — AI-generated insights on test performance. Test content and responses are sent to Gemini only when an AI insight is requested.
Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy. We do not sell your personal data to any third party.
4. Payments
Payments are processed through Razorpay. We do not store your card details or banking information. Payment records (amount, status, and transaction IDs) are stored to maintain your subscription and enrollment history.
5. Coaching Organisations
When you enroll in a coaching on Chalks, your name and email are shared with that coaching's administrators so they can manage your enrollment, classes, and results. Each coaching is responsible for how they use your data within their organisation.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at support@chalks.app.
7. Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. No third-party advertising cookies are used on the platform.
